There’s no denying it: we live in a world dominated by technology. We try to limit our screen time by setting limits, going on digital detoxes or ordering ourselves to delete some of our most-used apps. If you’re a mum, however, chances are you don’t even have all that much time to spend on your phone. We’d like to think of it as a naturally occurring digital detox.
The time we do spend on our phones needs to be worthwhile and actually useful for us, which is why we’ve rounded up three of our favourite apps that have had a positive impact on our social lives (offline!), has helped us with day-to-day issues and challenges that come with being a parent and have made us feel empowered in tackling our ever growing to-do lists.
“Parenthood is an amazing journey and it's one that every parent comes to learn in their own way. Being a parent is hard enough”
Who hasn’t spent hours on Google trying to find the best remedy to cope with a teething baby and what about if you need advice on juggling work and family life? In our day and age, an abundance of information is readily available at our fingertips - that doesn’t mean that we don’t need to filter that information and that costs time we don’t have. Kidbo made our list as our Google for Parents and we hope you’ll find it just as useful as we do. In a nutshell, Kidbo is here to give you the handy tools to become the parent you aspire to be. By sharing your kid’s age and your interest, Kidbo presents you with a community that is there to support you with helpful tips and answers to burning questions.

Have you found it increasingly hard to make new friends over the years? How simple was it bonding with others as children over the same taste in movies or the same enemy on the schoolyard! Adulthood changed these social norms and we can all find ourselves in a situation where we feel lonely or even isolated.
Being a new mum can be overwhelming and having a girlfriend can lend support in ways that a partner or family members can’t. We need social interactions with our friends to share similar life situations to feel understood and less alone in a new situation.
Mush Mums was born out of the desire to help mums build the community of their dreams. Dubbed “the friendliest place for new mums”, the app especially caters to new mums helping them feel less alone in their new situation.
The two founders Sarah and Katie met on a London playground while their two small children were playing. A friendship developed that according to the founders “kept each other sane and happy in the months that followed” and they realised the potential of connecting other mums.
Many aspects of our modern lives happen online and even though making new friends isn’t as easy as it used to be on the schoolyard, you’ll remember quickly that all it takes is something to bond over and the rest will follow.

Time - something we never seem to have enough of. Were you someone who loved nothing more than spending an hour on a rainy Sunday night with your planner getting organised for the week ahead? Didn’t it feel good to jot down ideas, pencil in appointments and write down little reminders for yourself to stay on top of all your to-do’s?
Well, chances are that having kids will change this dynamic a little bit. If you do find the time to still write down your plan for the week, you’ll notice yourself rarely ever sticking to it - your everyday routine simply isn’t as foreseeable anymore. Plus, now when you’re out and about with your little one, you have a hard time finding what you’re looking in your bag that you just can’t be bothered lugging around that hefty old planner of yours.
We are here to tell you that your phone is your friend! There are countless apps that claim to help you get organised and more productive but who has the time to cut through all the noise?
Cozi lets you:
Keep events and activities all in one place
